Microneedling
What Is Microneedling?
Rejuvenate your skin with this intensive, collagen-boosting treatment
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure, that uses tiny needles to penetrate your skin, creating tiny micro-injuries to stimulate the healing process and encouraging new collagen and elastin production, helping to firm and smooth your skin. Microneedling is not just for your face, but can be used almost anywhere on your body.
Microneedling has a host of benefits from improving sun damage to reducing the appearance of scars on the face and body. It can help firm the skin, smooth lines and wrinkles, even skin tone, fade stretch marks and scars and even improve hair loss.
Lie back and relax whilst we treat your face to a gentle cleanse, steam and toning of your skin, in preparation for your micro-needling experience.
Using a micro-needle pen, which contains several tiny micro-needles, and a specially selected serum, we will gently glide the pen over your face to create micro-injuries which will help new collagen and elastin growth. Your treatment will be followed by a hydrating facemask then applying a soothing moisturiser and SPF to help protect the skin whilst it is healing.
Depending on your skin concerns and desired outcomes, a course of 4 or 6 treatments is normally recommended for best results
To get the most out of your treatment, a good "at home" skin care regime is recommended.

FAQ
Benefits
Many changes happen to the skin as it ages, including a rougher texture, loss of collagen, thinning of the epidermis (making the skin appear more translucent), thinner blood vessel walls (making bruising more likely), and a tendency for the skin to become dryer. The main goal of the Collagen Therapy Microneedling procedure is to repair damaged skin by introducing the right amount of needles into the different levels of the skin to promote the production of natural collagen and elastin fibers. This process repairs damaged skin and lessens the visibility of skin imperfections. Microneedling has many benefits and can improve: • Premature skin ageing • Scaring and acne scars • Stretch marks • Reduce the appearance of cellulite • Hyperpigmentation • Age spots • Acne • Large pores • Hair loss • Fine lines and wrinkles • Tightening of the skin • Skin rejuvenation
Side Affects
After your microneedling treatment, your skin will be red and flushed in appearance. You may experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. Side-effects after microneedling treatments are extremely low. The only side effects can include some redness, bruising and swelling that resolves quickly.
Aftercare
You will be provided with a full aftercare sheet to help you care for, and maintain, your skin after your treatment. Following our aftercare plan, will ensure you get the best results for as long as possible After your microneedling treatment, you may experience dry, dull or flaky skin up to 7 days post treatment. Your skin on your face will be more sensitive to sun exposure. During your treatment you will have sunscreen applied to protect your skin, you will need to ensure that you apply sunscreen, at least SPF 30, every time you go outside (even if its cloudy), for at least 2 weeks. Use a mild cleanser with tepid water to clean your face for 3 days after the treatment and gently dry the treated area. Keep your hands clean when touching your face. In addition to sunscreen, we recommend the following aftercare advice: Do not apply makeup for 24-48 hours Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 3 days Avoid extreme heat or cold for at least 3 days Avoid saunas, sunbeds, hot tubs and chlorinated pools for 3 days Avoid exercise, or getting sweaty for 3 days Do not exfoliate or use facial scrubs for at least 3 days
How long do the
results last for?
A difference will be noticeable the next day but the skin will continue to improve for up to weeks afterwards. Peak effect after treatment will show in approximately 14 days. A repeat treatment is recommended between 7 days and 6 weeks, depending on your skin condition, with a minimum course of 3 treatments to get the most benefit, although it can be continued as part of your regular skin care regime.
